We are Gas Safe registered
Lucas & Sons takes gas safety seriously. All of our engineers are on the Gas Safe Register and will have their official identity card when you ask to see it.
Gas Safe Register is the official gas safety organisation in Great Britain.
It replaced CORGI on 1st April 2009. Gas Safe Register is responsible for the registration and regulation of gas engineers. Membership is mandatory for any company or engineer working with gas appliances.
Meet The Team
Ian Lucas is the Managing Director of Lucas and Sons. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry and likes to lead by example.
He is fully qualified Gas, Oil and Electrical Engineer and is quite happy to get his hands dirty although he now spends the majority of his time in the office.
He completed his gas apprenticeship during his 16 years at British Gas and has also worked at Scottish & Southern Energy during his time in the field. He is focused , determined and driven and believes that the current success of Lucas and Sons is due to their outstanding reputation and their good quality workmanship.
Dave Ricaud is a SeniorTechnical Engineer at Lucas and Sons. He enjoys the project management side of his role as he has strong time management skills which enable him to keep to tight deadlines.
He is always happy and loves the variety of work he is asked to undertake. He has exceptionally high standards and expectations of his workmanship and takes great pride in his work. He is a valued member of the team and ensures Lucas and Sons' reputation goes from strength to strength whilst maintaining maximum professionalism at all times.
Val Saxby is the Office Manager. She deals with all the policies and procedures. She has vast amounts of public sector experience gained from working in various environments.
She is responsible for all legal and human resource issues and ensuring that we as a company are compliant and up to date with current legislation and requirements.
Tristan Myers is a fully qualified level 2 Plumbing Engineer who is currently studying for his level 3 apprenticeship at Trowbridge College. He has been with Lucas and Sons from the start and has seen the company evolve and become the success it is now.
He is keen and eager to learn new skills, and enjoys working with other members of the team. He is an asset to the company and delivers Lucas and Sons' core values and is a proud member of the team.
Brandon Davis is our latest apprentice. He is in the process of obtaining his Gas Engineer level 2 at Trowbridge college and is the newest member of the team. He is a complete natural in this field and has the makings of becoming an outstanding engineer once he is fully qualified.
He enjoys the diversity of his workload and thrives on expanding his current skills and knowledge. He is forward thinking and motivated and has a great attitude towards his work.
Neil Lucas is an Installation Engineer. He is the most experienced member of the team with over 40 years of service in the industry. He completed most of this working for British Gas and is now taking life a little slower working on a part-time basis for Lucas and Sons.
He has a very methodical approach towards his work and maintains a calm and collected presence in stressful and complicated situations. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and wisdom with all the team which is especially beneficial to our apprentices.
Claire has strong administration and organisational skills and a flair for leading and motivating the team. She uses her skills and knowledge to support Ian, the other engineers and apprentices. She is responsible for the day to day running of the office; organising engineers workloads, scheduling works, taking payments, as well as liaising with customers, suppliers and contractors.
